She was a well known photographer in and out of her town of Raleigh, North Carolina. She would travel many different places because people would request for her pictures to be on their walls. Her husband Joshua Smith always supported her. They got married when she was just 18, right out of high school. They were together every since. They had one child, Gage Smith who grew up to also be a photographer like her. He says how he is very thankful that she was his mother because she’s the reason his dreams came true. She had three grandchildren who would always come over to her house and they would play on the computer together and watch TV, when they were little. Cadence Smith, Ryan Smith and Shaylene Smith where always close to there grandparents and they never wanted to leave their house, is what Gage told us. Her husband writes a poem to her that always reminded him or her. A stranger you were once. Then, with a gentle look you took my hand. As our lives engaged, you lit my life and I held both your hands. Now that decades have passed, ours souls have indeed become one. How fortunate we are that we have found the love so true that everyone dreams about. By: Erika Brooks
